Description

Oh. My. God. My hand really hurts.

I started working on this on Sunday evening... and then what happened on Monday? Sherlock series 2 clips happened! And the same yesterday! And today four teaser trailers were released! So I've had plenty of motivation to keep me going :la:

And can I just say that Benedict has such an amazingly complicated face to draw. And his hair. I was hitting my head off the desk.

Worked from a reference, of course: [link]
I was going to do John too, but I think he looks rather odd in this one and I think I may be lying dead on the floor if I had tried to do both of them at once, anyway. Although by the time we get to 1st January I may be dead already. Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are deliberately releasing all of these clips. They want to murder all of the Sherlockians.

The facial expression is good on this piece. It captures his personality I think. He looks to be in deep concentration which is very appropriate. The hair turned out good; Not too short and not too long either. The curl is nice as well. The only thing I don't love is that it looks like he's growing a mustache; he is always so clean shaven! But other than that the atmosphere of the art is really well done. The smiley on the wall is a nice touch. I like how the whole picture incorporates a Sherlockian style yet it still keeps to the modern era.
